Experience
Piotr Kalinowski is an award winning interior architect, known for his work with hospitality brands from boutique hotels to five stars.
In 2018 he launched new design studio as CEO and Design Director. The work ethics and disruptive approach led Piotr to position capable of changing status quo for interior design market in Poland, introducing mobile technologies, innovative employees workflow management, creating a new dynamic wave for commercial interior design.
With MIXD launching globally in 2018, the design process is evolving to not only design hospitality but also enhance guest experience with tailored social media engagement and brand evelopment. Piotr is looking forward to work with nternational brands to help clients and investors from around the world with rapidly changing market.
She handles the financial and legal matters of the company and is responsible for the overall organization of both the projects and the studio's operations. She is a graduate of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, majoring in Architecture and Urban Planning. From her second year of studies, she began applying the knowledge she gained in practice, working for various architectural firms: first small local studios and then larger nationwide ones. It quickly became clear that her strength lay in effective project management.
They divide their responsibilities according to their strengths: "Piotr is responsible for acquiring clients, new business, and maintaining the quality of conceptual projects, while I handle the execution of these projects and their organization. Moreover, we complement each other well in making tough decisions: Piotr often has very ambitious, far-reaching plans, which I then confront with reality. This ultimately gives us a better, more comprehensive perspective on the matter and leads to better decisions."
She enjoys working with people and refining the design process: finding the best and most effective way to develop the various phases of projects, from the preliminary phase to final oversight. In the design process, she is fascinated by the initial phase, where pre-concepts emerge during brainstorming sessions and discussions. Her favorite projects are mid-scale hotels because they usually provide designers with more creative freedom and opportunities to utilize interesting design and build a strong storytelling than luxury projects.

The Team
Associates
Marta Jakubas, an Associate in Hospitality, leads key hotel projects for MIXD in Poland, Europe, and Central Asia. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, specializing in Furniture Design, and studied in Paris at ESAG Penninghen through the Erasmus program. Interested in sustainable design, she dedicated her master’s thesis to this topic.
Marta began her career designing interiors for individual clients but later shifted to public interior design. “I moved from Krakow to Wrocław and started with MIXD. Three years later, I know it was a fantastic decision,” she says.
Regarding the MIXD slogan #newworldofhospitality, she highlights that it focuses on hospitality and experience design: finding new patterns, design solutions, providing attractive stimuli, and evoking emotions. “We base our projects on authentic stories, draw the best from local culture, and infuse it into our designs. We seek luxury in fundamental values like tranquility, closeness to nature, and sincerity.”
